Imogen put her brown hair up into a bun and stepped out the door into the light of the moon. She had a long, elegant white dress that ended at her knees. She was almost always dressed in white. It was about midnight and it was time for her rounds. Imogen seemed to be an ordinary girl, just going for a walk, but she was far from normal. As she walked, her eyes were upwards at the sky examining the stars and moon. She felt herself bump into a figure and she stumbled back, her eyes locking forward. She then saw a female standing before her.
“Oh...I’m terribly sorry…”
As she studied the girl, she got a vibe from her she wasn’t a normal girl either, but what was different? Her brows furrowed as a small frown grazed her lips. Imogen didn’t sense anything demonic about the girl, but something was sure different. She gave a rare smile and it quickly faded as it became her serious expression once again. She was taught always remain serious on a job, and she was almost always on it.
“I suppose we both should have...May I ask you something?” she continued without waiting for the girl’s response. “You...you are different. I mean I can feel it...what’s different about you?”
Imogen was never good at social communication. She tried not to sound blunt, but it wasn’t easy.
The girl returned a smile as she studied Imogen, her name was Aniu. Aniu knew Imogen couldn’t have been bad since she didn’t get a negative vibe from her. She seemed extremely nice and not at all threatening. Aniu nodded after Imogen asked the question.
“Sure you can!” After a short pause, she cleared her throat. “I’m a werewolf.” she replied.
Imogen’s curiosity instantly peaked.
“A werewolf?” She gasped. Imogen had only dealt with demons and other angels. She bit her lip as she introduced herself to Aniu. “Well, I’m an angel.” She flashed a soft smile.
It had been the first time she admitted that she wasn’t of the human kind. It was against the rules to tell humans what she was. But technically she did not break the law, it was a werewolf who she told…
